Random Lookbook: Target Lipstick Lamp

So, I couldn’t not post this little item I purchased from my local Target, because it’s just too cute and apropos for me (and other beauty lovers). My husband and I were browsing the aisles of Target leisurely, like we often do, and we walked past the home organization section, where they have the newest items out. As soon as we saw it, my husband said “This is so you, Becca!” The lamp has a metallic silver reflective base, where the actual lipstick packaging is. On top, there is an adorable fuchsia pink “lipstick” where the actual lamp and bulb are. The lamp already comes with a bulb inside, so all you have to do is plug it in and you’re ready to go.

I love the kitschy nature of this lamp. It actually reminds me of “A Christmas Story,” when Ralphie’s dad wins a leg lamp, and he is so excited and loves it to death. My work desk is a great mix of items from people I love, though, from a personalized “B” glass that was given to me by a friend at Christmas, to a fairy figurine given to me by my dad who says it reminded him of me. I love adding personal touches to my work space to make me feel cozy when I’m working, and inspire me when I need to write.

The lamp looks very pretty when lit, emitting a soft fuchsia pink glow. It’s definitely not a lamp I would use for bright lighting, but more so a lamp you keep on for a little extra light or ambient lighting throughout your work area. I love to put this on at night when I’m working and only want a touch of light, or when my husband goes to sleep, and I don’t want to disturb him with bright light.

I believe this lamp cost me $25 at Target (admittedly, a bit pricey). The dimensions are 12 inches in height by 4 inches in width, so it will fit well in small spot.
