I typically do nail polish collections all at once in a post here on Beauty Gala, but for this collection, I wanted to slowly feature them one-by-one because they are all so different in shade and effect that I want you to be able to really take each one in. Nicole by OPI Texture Coat Nail Polish is a brand new line of graffiti-inspired polishes that is also inspired by OPI’s Shatter polishes.

What’s unique about these polishes is that they differ from your typical shatter polishes in my opinion. They leave a different pattern than your typical shatter polish, and I mean that in a great way. To see photographs and swatches,



Turquoise Texture is a bright shimmering turquoise texture/shatter nail polish. These Texture Coat Nail Polishes seem very different to me than your typical shatter nail polishes. From the get-go, the pattern it created was less grungy looking, and more “glamorous,” if that makes sense. It left a feathered-like texture on my nails which ended up looking more pretty than edgy, which I loved. I used this shade against “Play The Peonies,” by OPI, which is a shimmering nude beige. The turquoise really pops against it, and it reminds me of a bright blue, shimmering swimming pool on a hot day! It’s beautiful, and I personally like the effect better than your typical shatter polishes.

Turquoise Texture is layered lightly over top of “Play The Peonies” by OPI above. I simply brushed the Texture Coat polish on a diagonal across my dried base color, and it “shrunk” into a feathered texture. What I notice about the formula on these Nicole by OPI polishes is that the actual Texture Coat polish shows more on the nail rather than “shattering” more, and the effect seems to be a little more understated. Personally, I love the feathered look this gave my nails, and I prefer it over a super shattered look. Shatter nail polish isn’t for everyone, and this gives more of a “pretty” effect in my opinion. It also doesn’t hurt that the turquoise color is absolutely shimmering and gorgeous, either! This nail polish lasted on my nails for over eight days with just some minor tip wear.



Watch out for more swatches of the other five shades, which I will be featuring!
